Sales and numbers are way more important than customer service and client relationships. However if you're not meeting sales requirements you may be working 7 days a week. Managers and asst managers can expect to work about 60 hours a week, with one day off per week. Yes, you get free workouts but you are working so much that you either don't have time to workout or are exhausted. They provide what they are required by law to provide - health insurance if you qualify. There are no benefits that are worth sharing. Studios are open 7 days a week, holidays, etc. more.įun job if you're single or don't have any other interests outside of work. You will be constantly tired & mentally drained. Oftentimes, I was expected to provide compensation to my staff out of my own pocket- as if a $5 Starbucks gift card is supposed to help and motivate an underpaid and overworked staff. Trying to get your employees a raise from upper management is impossible as well- causing tension between you and your employees who expect you to provide some compensation for their hard work. Employees can make more money at a fast food restaurant but are given the expectations to work in a high-stress environment often alone, and are not offered commission on sales. Hiring hourly workers for $10-12/hour is difficult, as the job asks a lot but compensates little. At the same time, denied PTO multiple occasions after working extremely long hours with no days off in sight. You will be forced to forge signatures on Membership Agreements and make it impossible for members to cancel. If this isn’t bad enough, their business practices are nothing shy of illegal. If you aren’t “cute” or have a foreign name, the Regional Manager will throw out your application entirely. The company specifically only hires pretty, blondes and your Facebook will be looked at before your resume. Not only will you have no work/life balance but you will be forced into a culture that is racist, full of drama and sees constant turnover.
